It has an open ending, but as far as I know it was originally billed as a limited series that ended up getting a surprise 2nd season until it was cancelled. It’s a complete story and very worth the time. There are aspects of the broader MCU in it, but the story works without the super hero stuff.

Due to the pivot to Doom after they dropped Kang there’s only 4 movies with overt references to the new movie: Deadpool & Wolverine, Captain America Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and Fantastic Four. Beyond that, no one knows what Kang stuff they’re going to repurpose that’ll be relevant.
