Been getting emails from a company I didn't recognize. They said I had an account, but I didn't recall. I check them out, very AI centric. Seems unlikely, but I go to log in, have them send me a password. "I'm in!" It was plans in a slacklike in July 2012 for a puzzle trail with folks from Portland

Couple days ago, an AI booster claimed AI is solving mathematical problems. Today, I see this: cims.nyu.edu/~tristanb/st... So basically, openai may have stolen the work of mathematicians, dumped tons of computing power to get a solution, got sloppy output, and then threated the mathematician.

AI (LLMs) is theft. The theft has happened. Using the fruits of that theft is morally and ethically wrong. It's as wrong as a pawn shop who fences stolen goods. As wrong as laundering stolen money. If those weren't illegal, there'd be assholes doing that openly too and whining about valid criticism.

I recently asked a young coworker to make a spreadsheet for me, and he used the windows ai thing to make it, and I was appalled and tried not to be too harsh about it, but it's like, now I have to check every fucking cell for potential errors. In addition to checking his work.
