Every calculator, eligibility system, and policy tool translates the law from prose into something a machine can run. Most do it from scratch, differently, and out of public view. Same law, different answers, no way to check.
“I’ve spent my career inside and alongside government closing the gap between the policy we pass and the services people actually receive — including building benefits access tools and some of the earliest rules as code work in the U.S. AI has changed what’s possible and rules as code can now happen at the scale of the law itself. That’s what the Axiom Foundation makes real — an open digital layer between policy and delivery, so no one is guessing at what the law says, and government, builders, and AI models all work from the same playbook.” — Ariel Kennan, President, the Axiom Foundation

Love for this city and its people. What a beautiful celebration to start the year, and a new era. “To those who insist that the era of big government is over, hear me when I say this: No longer will City Hall hesitate to use its power to improve New Yorkers’ lives.” Watch the whole speech.

I realized some of you might've missed this @propublica.org story because you — understandably — have certain words or phrases muted. But y'all need to know what financial and bookkeeping shenanigans Trump 2.0 is looking to test, starting with HUD. Read the full story: propub.li/41IkxPH
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is considering taking a first step to using crypt0 currency, according to a meeting recording and other materials reviewed by ProPublica and three officials familiar with the matter. Two officials told ProPublica they believe the initiative may be a trial run for the use of crypt0 across the federal government. The proposal at HUD indicates a new way that the administration may seek to bolster the industry: by incorporating block chain and possibly crypt0 currency into the routine spending and accounting practices of federal agencies. It’s a move that would align with the apparent desire of Trump adviser Elon Musk to use the block chain to monitor federal spending.
