I am reminded of Daniel Sloss's book where for some bizarre reason they translated all school years into American even though it was explicitly about his life in Scotland If they had just changed it to the kids ages, that would have been fine! It wasn't like the precise school years mattered!

I've been sewing today, literal hours and it's all been on this fly. every single seam unpicked several times - partly my own inattentiveness and partly the instructions being wrong (I am 98% sure they're wrong) But I did it, my first fly! Maybe I could actually make some jeans!

I cycled to work at the Shore via leith walk the other day (I usually go Holyrood park - Easter road) and at every light there were 15 cyclists waiting to go up the way. It's brilliant, love the voi bikes contribution to this!

Attempts to close the road in front of Sciennes primary started before my kids started, my youngest is now in p7 and there is a 0% chance it will happen before he finishes. The only reason it's even temporarily closed is because of Covid

Can confirm that Braid Road, and the rest of the estate, is back to being a car traffic sewer. Took me 3x as long to get through it, *as a cyclist*. 4x close passes 2x drivers ignoring parallel crossing 2x wrong way down Braidburn Terrace 1x use of pavement as carriageway

Rolling back existing active travel and failing to implement other routes doesn’t help the councils case. Active travellers will hold on with a death grip to any existing facilities until the council is seen to be comfortable taking space away from cars and drivers.

My mind has just been blown by the song! It's in French and English at the same time. If you listen to it on speaker it sounds like gobbledygook but on headphones you have French on the left and English on the right and somehow you can take them both in at the same time. Such a weird experience!

I linked this to hospital parking charges for three main reasons: 1. People without car access overwhelmingly pay more to get to hospital than those with car access, especially out of public transport hours, for sub-ambulance urgent treatment, & for frequent attendance (including visitors.)
