Sorry, but seeing Friday in theaters while high as hell is an all-timer experience. Couldn't stop thinking about how its the 90's cousin to the LA Rebellion movement of the 60's-80's (Charles Burnett, Billy Woodbury, etc). The goofy b-side to Bless Their Little Hearts. Insanely great soundtrack too.

People talk about quicksand, but not enough is said about how the media made us think nano-bots were going to be a bigger deal in the future than they turned out to be.

There's a French New Wave year-long series that is blowing my mind. Elevator to the Gallows, Hiroshima mon amour, and The 400 Blows hit so much harder than it did in my early 20's

"Was it great, or were you 8" is the right idea. I'm so glad my town has a rep cinema because my most revelatory rewatches are seeing them on the big screen.

The Pitt got greenlit for a season 3, out next February, and the announcement has very funny comment from HBO chairman Casey Bloys that’s like “yeah, turns out if you just make a TV show like how we used to make TV shows you can have a 15+ episode season every year 🤷‍♂️”

Also, sorry, but Wuthering Heights is great btw. A bodice ripper Knight's Tale. A wattpad Princess Bride. An AO3 Marie Antoinette. It's the trashy historical romance version of "Spectacular Spectacular" from Moulin Rouge. It's lurid fun. Fuck puritanism forever.

Fucking MGM acquisition. Once the deal was made, this film's fate in the content mill was sealed. Damn shame, cause it's a pretty good time. Would've been nice to see in the multiplex with a packed, local kine audience.

It holds an interesting place alongside Queer (rewatch imminent!), but seeing it with a crowd is a delight. Someone at my screening gasped at the first Mugwump reveal. It's like discovering Your depraved people. Like home. For a director described as "frigid," Naked Lunch oddly feels cozy.
