The current situation in Saudi Arabia is pretty dire. The Houthis successfully targeted the east-west pipeline that supplied up to 7m barrels of oil/day to avoid the strait of Hormuz. The Houthis are rapidlt advancing on the Bab Al-Mandab strait and could block shipping traffic there soon.

I know Andreas. We met several times early in our careers. He is an exceptional mathematician, a leading expert on sofic and hyperlinear groups, and one of the most respected scholars in the field. He has spent two decades working on this problem.
