Masks on masks. I'm currently making a short on how I used the powerful mask stack in Toolbag to make this peeling paint. The mask system is my favourite thing in texture projects. Knowing how to use grey values to enhance blend modes will level up your masks, along with your textures. #3dart

I found a new use for the scatter layer, which seems really apparent. I can use it to scatter pebbles in cracks and flat surfaces using directional masks in Toolbag. This is way better than with a texture mask, as it would cut off pebbles randomly and I'd have to hand paint the mask to fix that.

Eveytime I talk to an artist and I tell them I test Marmoset Toolbag and that I always prefered the texturing tools in Toolbag to other apps, they always go: "Wait, Toolbag has texturing!?" Yes! All the Enviro assets in the last game I launched (Soliumn Infernum) were all textured in Toolbag 4!

When I type on the I have an internal autocorrect. like I was typing "Seat backs" but instead got "Seat backup" My fingers have gone rogue. Even at the start of this tweet it typed "Why" Maybe it's trying to say: why is it a bad thing? It's a bad if it autocorrects to swearing in meeting chat!

There is also this new layer in the 5.03 toolbag beta called a Scatter layer. You can scatter brush splots over your texture in random or grid layouts. So naturally, I used the grid scatter to make a brick wall. #3Dart #texturing

Made this trim sheet entirely in @marmoset3d.bsky.social Toolbag using library materials, layer generators and a ton of vector layers. Then I stuck the trim sheet on a brick warehouse. #3Dart #gameart

Trim smooth border is still the goat for flat surfaces after 17 years of using it. (oh gosh I'm old) Most of my sculpting is clay buildup, orb crack, trim smooth border and zero brain activity.

Early bushrangers where I grew up hunted drop bears out of our south coast region. They wore metal helmets, (see Ned Kelly armour) as it protected them against surprise attacks, so it wasn't until I moved out bush in QLD that I heard one. australian.museum/learn/animal...
