This is a male Red-rumped Parrot. His colours are particularly bright, because it's Spring here. He's a blue-green parrot overall, with blackish tips of his wings, and a red back and base of his tail. He's perched at water level on a dead branch that emerges from the pond's water. His black beak is making round ripples, as is the very tip of his tail which is dipped in the water.

Growing in kerbside gardens seen while a longish walk

A lovely small kerbside garden that I revisited today. Last time I saw it I met and complimented the gardener but did not take photos. Today I did!

A Leptospermum cultivar who I last visited a few weeks ago still has some lovely flowers to show off. There's a white Convolvulus underneath! 😊

This white convolvulus particularly asked me to take it's picture because it's beneath a show off shrub. I started walking away before I heard the request, I'm well trained by plants and birds so I turned back to take this photo.

Nandina domestics or Sacred Bamboo. Very pretty berries! I was pleased to see none of my wild friends had pecked at it, as it is highly toxic. I've seen it in Launceston in Tasmania, Adelaide in South Australia and now in Canberra the inland capital of Australia.
