I see how that was confusing! A 🕷️ in 1 room. It scurried across the floor. Screaming ensued as well as some kids wanting to “save him” while others voting for “squish.” Then, different teacher in different class. There was a fire drill and a few bees followed us back into the classroom!

Working in a school & doing math PD for teachers. Apparently some teachers (that weren’t included) heard about the PD from their colleagues and asked the math coach if they could come next time. The math coach was like, “this *never* happens. No one asks to come to PD!” Her flabbers were gasted! 😂

It has always bothered me too. And, yet, so common. I think I hear it at least once a day in a school! I assume positive intent and that it’s kind of a shorthand for something they are seeing in their classroom. Unfortunately I think it leads to underestimating what Ss can do.
