People like Kane and many many others that do care about human art and the creative process have been a beacon of hope while trying to navigate making art in this current climate.
CBS MORNINGS ON YOUTUBE (JUNE 4, 2026)

Interviewer: I read that you do not want to embrace Al.

Kane: Absolutely not.

For me the whole point of doing what I'm doing-art is a way of processing life. I don't see the value in outsourcing any element of that.

When I'm looking at someone else's project, if I see an element of the environment [where] they use generative fill or whatever to change something about the scene, it just shuts off the part of my brain that wants to know more about that world. Because I would assume if they're willing to make an arbitrary choice there, they could make an arbitrary choice with literally anything.

I wasn’t being glib saying AI is fascist
A digital poster in the style of a World War II propaganda piece. Isolaed on a yellow background, a normal, squarish, 20-something guy with glasses is sitting working on a laptop. A ghostly figure of Hitler has his arm around the guy and is grinning and shaking a fist triumphantly looking at the laptop screen. On the lid of the laptop where an apple might otherwise be is an openAI logo, bright green, and dripping green ooze down the lid. Text on the poster, in combinations of sans-serif type and brush script reads:
Using Generative AI?
You’re prompting with Hitler!
GenAI is a Fascist Project!
Try using your brain instead
Don’t surrender your creativity to the tech billionaire’s control

This is just going to always be my go-to response to this kind of thing anthonymoser.github.io/writing/ai/h...
I do understand: you want permission. There's a machine in the corner wrapped in human skin that makes things out of shit and blood to look like whatever you want (as long as you don't look too closely). You gave one to your teacher and they didn't notice. Your boss told you to use it after they laid off half the team and it was fine. You fed one to your kids and they liked it. You want to know you can use it sometimes without me thinking less of you. You don't need me to believe it's useful, you just want me to be polite about it.

But I am a hater, and I will not be polite. The machine is disgusting and we should break it. The people who build it are vapid shit-eating cannibals glorifying ignorance. I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself.

Hey @bsky.app @safety.bsky.app @support.bsky.team please unsuspend Goran immediately. Goran is a great person, a great artist, and the whole anti-Palestine thing youre on is one of those "Ford funding Hitler" disasters you remember being shocked and dismayed by when you learned of in middle school.
An art piece by Goran Gligovic of a sword resting against a battered tree in front of a rocky dungeon entrance amidst a snowy field. The text says UNBAN GORAN GLIGOVIC.

This is not merely a matter of improving the chatbots' programming so that they more believably imitate humans, or provide more responsible outputs when presented with poisoned cognition in their users. There is a simple and tragic category error at the core of the Al chatbot push-at the core of so incredibly much of 21st-century American life, really-that only gets more alarming and more obviously deadly to all of us the further the psychotic tech industry projects it out among us. It is the idea that things like connection, friendship, intimacy, and care are essentially sensory arrangements, things an individual feels, and therefore things that can be reproduced by anything that provides something like the rightsensations. This misapprehension holds that a person who is socially isolated is merely experiencing a set of sensations called "social isolation," and so also holds that this can be resolved by interacting with a mindless computer program
that produces in the isolated person the impression that they are connecting to another being.
This is deeply poisonous. More to the point, it is also just wrong!
Incorrect!
The world outside of you is not merely an image projected onto your sensory organs. The people in it are not mere instruments that you use to produce the sensory arrangements you desire. They are also real, and what you and theyneed from each other, I am sorry to say, is not the mere feeling of being understood and valued and cared for, but to actually be understood and valued and cared for. Not only or even primarily because of how that feels, but because the fact of it backstops your life, and can become a pattern of supportive action when
somebody needs it. This is because you, human that you are, are a social being, a part of humanity and incoherent divided from it. This is why in isolation people can go insane or, not to put too fine a point on it, kill themselves.
This is where that category error tips over into an insidious lie. People are
complicated, and not always predictable; they may not like you or find you interesting; they might hurt your feelings. Moreover our horrible21st-century society works at all times to produce utterly crazymaking isolation in each person, creating frictionless alternatives to human contact and then filling the margin created with work until those alternatives are not alternatives anymore, but simply all you have time for. But there is nothing for it: You simply have to go out among people and connect yourself to them and identify with them, or your life will be an abomination, in the way that so many people's lives now are abominable.

My piece TOXIC REBIRTH for the #810NICLEDAY Hordika zine, featuring Vakama emerging from the Visorak web! #webzine #bionicleday #bionicle #lego #art
A rough, experimental digital piece in central composition. It features Toa Vakama Hordika emerging from a green cocoon, looking like a panicked vicious animal. His muzzle is open in a scream and his clawed hand is scratching at the cocoon. There are five other cocoons seen in the background. The palette of the piece is an unsettling combination of red, black, grey and sickly yellowish-green, with dashes of dark blue.
