So, on top of the whole jobless situation, the power has been out since 4am. That was over 4 hours ago. So I'm going to have to toss out a bunch of my food, which I can't really afford to replace right now. I'm going to cry.

I hate doing this, but I desperately need help; I've been unable to get a job and I'm about to end up on the street. My kofi and more are in my profile.

AnimatorZee @animatorzee.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I really hope I can land a job soon. Countless applications for years, and I can count the interviews I've had on a single hand. No offers. Might have to start selling off my belongings just so I can afford rent and food...if I can even afford the Lyft fees, since I can't drive yet.

I hate doing this, but anything helps. I'm still homeless and in hiding, and I could really use some support. In the meantime, I'm going to do my best to post my personal projects when I can. ko-fi.com/animatorzee

Sometimes progress is getting a bunch of new art assets made. Sometimes progress is finding out that your engine hates your formatting so you have rename all of your placeholder assets both in folder *and* in your code 🥲

Work on Firebrand's re-do is going slowly but surely! I can only give it a couple hours a day at best, since I'm busy juggling my health and other irl priorities, but it's coming together bit by bit. I don't have anything to show yet, but I hope to soon!

I would kill or die for Larry

A small operation in Oregon that hunts truffles with a trained dog has added an unpaid trainee. A cat named Larry accompanies the handler and the truffle dog into the woods every outing, works a patch of ground a little apart from them, and digs with tremendous confidence in places where there is nothing.
The handler says Larry has never found a truffle and shows no sign of understanding the assignment. He does not use scent the way the dog does and he does not respond when the dog makes a find.
He simply digs his own holes nearby and then inspects them. "He thinks he's on the team," the handler said. "He is emphatically not on the team."

I think it should be safe to share this now. Maybe. If you want the tl;dr: I'm homeless now and trying to get back on my feet, but it isn't easy so far and I'm pretty much all alone atm. CW in this thread for abuse mentions and homelessness.

Apologies for the long radio silence. I was living in a bad situation and some things kinda fell by the wayside. tl:dr; I'm currently homeless and seeking both shelter and work. Hopefully Cashapp works for donations and comm payments; PayPal and Stripe are being fussy atm.

I haven't been making art lately due to a variety of reasons, including irl stress and health. I also have some for personal projects that aren't ready for release yet, and others that are personal and not shared on this account. I'm hoping to have some cool stuff to share soon!

I'm tired of seeing ppl mocking concept artist looking for work, saying they can't get it cause their art may be pretty, but doesn't solve problems. And while I agree that's important, they just repeat it like a parrot without giving any advice. So here is my personal advice after 18 years of XP👇

Making your DLC trailer with GenAI just demonstrates how little you care about your customers, your product, and your craft, and that you only care about money. Hell, that can be said for making ANYTHING with GenAI. Taking the lazy route over actual work is always very telling. gdi Snail Games.

"Fandom is jobless behavior" is part of capitalist devaluation of art and the destruction of leisure. Your fun depends on millions of creative people, paid and unpaid, and treating them like they're lazy for being creative in an unprofitable way is signing the death warrant on your own free time

Fandom needs interaction to thrive, if u want to keep enjoying art, fic, edits, animations, silly little hcs, and all of that gud stuff, give some of the love back that creators pour out for you, fandom shouldn't be /content/ to mindlessly consume, let it be a dialogue of love and appreciation 🙏✨❤️

PSA, because soon bsky moderation won't even have time to drink their coffee with how much unlabeled stuff keeps being thrown into feeds every day. more info in comments. please do share your reasons and stories as well 💕

dear artists! content warnings are NOT optional. and as a former hentai artist i ask...

STOP hoping you won't get reported. label your SHIT. it is NOT about limiting creative ability. IT IS about protecting the most vulnerable.

IT IS about protecting the jobs of others. IT IS about being taken seriously and with respect. IT IS about not landing on blocklist for avoiding labels repeatedly.

not everyone lives alone (especially in this housing market). SEX and other stuff has its place and time.

no one needs their mother, children or boss to see your character plowing their sister.
on a platform about user freedom and choice don't strip those rights from your audience.

we will come when the time is right for us.

this has been a PSA. thank you!

ABSOLUTELY NOT This is a great way to completely destroy the cause of ALT. “We steal from artists” is NEVER the answer. Repost with ALT AND ATTRIBUTION Or politely ask someone to ALT their work Threatening people and painting folks that advocate for ALT text as thieves is a horrible strategy.

• they/them
This is how we do on BlueSky when someone doesnt do Alt-Text. We share it without the source but with Alt-Text.

Bringing it to 🦋 by request: People hate their own art because it looks like they made it. They think if they get better, it will stop looking like they made it. A better person made it. But there's no level of skill beyond which you stop being you. You hate the most valuable thing about your art.
