day 8 🗡sun i love this one so much! Athalla has twin suns so i needed to repeat a dual-orb pattern, but with all the black and red its strongly "cycle of seasons" themed. idea for a powerful ancient relic, probably from the Orosian temple of sun. #swordtember #swordtember2024 #worldbuilding #art

highly ornamental sword. it is made of brassy gold and dark black metal, with the main blade and small elements being made of shimmering polarized material / energy, showing a retro-rainbow colors.
it doesnt have a crossguard - in its place a hollow ring with glowing runes, and a dual-orb gemstone pattern with metal sunray ornaments around it. the blade is mostly covered with black and gold bladeguard, with the tip being a piercing, spearhead-like made of said mysterious material.
the grip is gold, with black insert shaped for gripping, worn down and uneven.
pommel guard is repeating the central pattern but at a smaller scale and with less sunrays.
pommel itself is vaguely arrowhead shaped, with simple decoration.

the gemstones tell the story of seasons - from a cold and distant winter with little to no sunrays and warmth, to a hot, piercing summer, then back into a less intense, but still hot season of Orosian islands.
