This is bad. The US is going from having one of the better public data infrastructures to one of the worst in <3 months. Education, climate, and health data have already taken a massive hit, and with them research in these fields. Now Musk/Trump/GOP are coming after economic and population data.

I'm not an R person, but I totally agree with this point: we're doing students a disservice by teaching them stata. Even worse if you're teaching at a public university: using public money to create consumers for a private company.
