❗️FBI is reaching out to people who were previously arrested by NJSP during protests outside Delaney Hall. Some have received phone calls or door knocks. National Lawyers Guild is spreading an advisory for people to contact their hotline if feds come knocking:

On Friday June 5th, at least 2 comrades arrested by state troopers on 5/29 at Delaney Hall were called by someone who self-identified as an FBI agent. On Saturday, June 6th, at least one comrade received a phone call followed by a doorknock by the FBI
PHONE CALLS AND DOOR KNOCKS FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT: if you receive a phone call from a number you don't know: Ask "who is this?" and write down their response. Ask the agent 1) their agency, 2) the agent's name, and 3) their phone number. tell them 4) you will not answer any questions and 5) a lawyer will contact them. Hang up as soon as you get their name and agency. If it is a doorknock, ask for the same info (name, agency, phone number) or for them to slide a card under the door --DO NOT open the door.

You have a constitutional right to remain silent and you have a constitutional right to not open your door or let law enforcement into your home without a warrant. Since it is also crime to lie to law enforcement, the safest thing is to only "leave your name and number. a lawyer will contact you."
If feds call or come knocking call the National Lawyers Guild's Federal
Defense Hotline 212-679-2811. Leave your name and phone number. A lawyer will contact you so that you can have a privileged conversation about your rights, risks, and responsibilities and be connected with appropriate legal resources.

US citizens used to be able to claim any whales they owned as "sport utility dolphins" on their taxes. The Tax Reform Act of 1986 closed that loophole.

Because the two whales used in Star Trek IV were both under a decade old at time of filming, the production was able to access a Child Actor Stipend offered by San Francisco's tax office, but in order to do so, the whales were given a month's worth of middle grade schooling during filming.
