Pretty much fell out of love with drawing this year due to various personal issues - kind of made peace with not producing another comic :-(

I’ve not been on there for ages, can’t even get into my account to close it down weirdly!

I watched an entire box set of 24 in one go and when I left the flat 18hrs later, was convinced the town was swarming with terrorists. When I told Kiefer Sutherland this story years later, he stared into my eyes and growled "try making it"

I absolutely loved the last book, wonderful! I’ve been on a social media break most of the year so couldn’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. Was feeling a bit jaded with comics at the time but your book reminded me why I love them still. I’m a big fan of danger mouse and duckula too :-)

Incredible! Sorry I didn’t get to see you at thought bubble after all (couldn’t make it).

Bless the sort of supergeeks who mine deep into production histories and reveal the gum and binding wire holding together so much of classic media. Today I stumbled across Century 21 Films, forensically studying THUNDERBIRDS and managing to be funny in the process: youtu.be/XGvn-dntlU8?...

Although I’m not drawing any comics currently I’m very busy designing them! I’m head designer for Shane Chebsey’s Scratch Comics & have worked (& will work with) some incredibly talented artists. Plus I continue to do work for @timebombcomics.bsky.social (big news on that coming soon!) and others.

I really wanted to go this year, to try and connect with a world I felt increasingly disconnected from… but sadly life had other plans!

Far less pressure and probably much more enjoyable, I was never a very good salesman when I sat behind a table badly attempting to sell my wares! So glad those days are behind me tbh!

000

Andy Bloor @andybloor.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

I’ve said that the last few years tbh! Then again I’m pretty much retired from creating comics now so I would just be a punter.

Andy Bloor @andybloor.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Most likely Bernard Butler: Good Grief. What a track ‘Camber Sands’ is… was lucky enough to see him perform it live, just him and his guitar.

Andy Bloor @andybloor.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

I’m just the same! Was so close to going this year but just wasn’t meant to be.

Andy Bloor @andybloor.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

I asked Dave West from Time Bomb comics to pop over but I think you were busy at the time. Hope you have a great show! I’ve still got that wolfman sketch you did for me years back :-)

010

Andy Bloor @andybloor.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Sadly I wasn’t able to make it today… I’ll see if a friend who’s there can get me a copy of one for sorrow (signed if possible) for me.

The Spirit and the Rocketeer with women from their comics admiring them with hearts floating around.

Maybe but even so it’s a lot of driving for 1 day (and I’m out on Sunday anyway)

000

Andy Bloor @andybloor.bsky.social · 15/11/2024

My options for thought bubble are a 2.5 hr drive both ways tomorrow or I end up not going for another year. Not sure I can face such a long drive if I’m honest, despite really wanting to go this year (considering I’ve not been for years!) : sad face :

With the influx, I probably should do an introduction post? I'm Kieron Gillen. I make puns and occasionally write comics. At the moment, solely doing indie work. THE POWER FANTASY is out monthly (1st trade in January) while WE CALLED THEM GIANTS is a stand alone Graphic Novel and available now.

The first press photo of me to hand. I need to update this.

The cover of The Power Fantasy 1. Issue 4 is about to come out. By Caspar Wijngaard.

the Cover of We called them giants, by Stephanie Hans.
