It was, or at least I heard it that way in the 90s both in relation to then current events but also those who went to fight fascism in the Spanish civil war / revolution. I wonder though if it might originate in the Communist Party and be a reference to the early 30s in Germany

Start of the No welcome for #Trump march in #Dublin - took about 30 minutes to pass a point which is at the larger end of Dublin protest marches despite the city council banning posters advertising it. Irish officialdom with some honorable exceptions is clearly worried about upsetting the bully

Cycling safely out of #Dublin is a challenge and I recently discovered the huge & expensive cyclist bridge crossing the M50 at Finglas is no longer fit for purpose due to development on the road it brings you to.

A sample of #Eurovelo 1 shortly after it leaves #Sligo town to head north towards Bundoran - it almost totally avoids the too busy National road while taking in the sights of the coast and Dartry mountains. As a bonus you experience the entire 2km Leitrim coast

I see Ann Widdecombe has died. When she was Home Secretary I showed her round Drake Hall womens’s prison. There was a pregnant woman on a bed in the early stages of Labour and she asked the prison officers why she wasn’t handcuffed to the bed. That’s the kind of woman she was.

As well as the route shown providing the weather behaves a little I’m going to add loops of the Sperrins, Inishowen & Boa island (I want to see the ‘Janus’ statues if it’s glorious I might head to favourite wild camping spots
