Do we think any of Manchester City’s players were clever enough to get escape clauses in their contract that trigger if the club is found guilty?

Don’t forget: because of Everton there’s now legal precedent for all these teams to sue City for damages. Additionally, teams that missed out on premier league titles, and cup championships could sue as well.

If an internationally-wanted war criminal (whose forces have killed Americans) comes to US soil, attacks Americans (including the mayor of the largest city), and then says "Remember the beepers" in reference to a terrorist attack he committed — how can that be taken as anything other than a threat?

It’s very simple. AI isn’t independent or autonomous. It’s a tool being specifically programmed to commit crimes against humans and against rival businesses. But the fantasy of autonomy is an incredible facade that means total deniability and our political and media classes have already bought in.

This fantasy that “AI is out of control” provides cover for powerful people and corporations to simply program systems to carry out actions and then shrug. And if that is brought into the larger scheme of operations, the powerful will shrug and blame the tool they control.

Not sure Sounders adding Joveljić really helps the Sounders in the short term. We’re decimated by injuries and won’t be creating chances for him any time soon. In the long term, he’ll score more than the three players that we’ve been giving minutes up top.

BREAKING: Federal judge finds that Trump's IRS suit was improper because Trump controlled both sides of the litigation. Judge Kathleen Williams also sanctions Trump's lawyers, issues monetary sanctions, and harshly criticizes DOJ's "untenable" conduct. More to come at Law Dork: www.lawdork.com
The Parties used the existence of federal litigation as a means of conferring legitimacy upon a course of action that they were unwilling to subject to judicial review.
The context of the "settlement," the relationships of the people involved in negotiating and approving it, the ethical implications of their conduct, and the Parties' swift efforts to
dismiss this case after the Court raised fundamental jurisdictional questions all support this conclusion. Accordingly, the Court expressly finds that Plaintiffs acted in bad faith.
See Sofaly v. Portfolio Recovery Assocs., LLC, 155 F.4th 289, 295 (3d Cir. 2025) (monetary sanctions were proper under the court's inherent power where the lawyers acted in bad faith and committed fraud on the court by using "their clients to bring
contrived lawsuits"). That finding is enough to invoke the Court's inherent authority. See JTR Enter., LLC V. Columbian Emeralds, 697 F. App'x 976, 986 (11th Cir. 2017) ("The key to invoking a court's inherent power to sanction is a finding of bad faith.") (citation
omitted).
