Last time I was on a passenger train in New Brunswick was Fall of 1990. From Fredericton Junction to Ontario where I went to broadcasting school. Used VIA regularly between Toronto and Montreal to go to hockey games and a concert and it was inexpensive. Wish Atlantic Canada had passenger service.

Had pleasure of being at CIHI & CKHJ Fredericton radio reunion & pot luck yesterday. Some on hand worked there in 1978-79. Great conversations and memories shared. Hi @suzannerent.bsky.social. Until Feb., I worked for nearly 15 years in nature conservation. Since pandemic, our offices closed & downsized. We grew to 450+staff plus consultants. Cohesive, family feeling changed to group of private contractors. I left to join an office with human interaction ❤️

5-years ago today, a local radio fixture signed off. Terry Seguin hosted the CBC morning show serving Greater Fredericton, central & northwest NB. Asked kept his guests on their toes - me included- and earned public trust. Always fair. Most effective interviewer I’ve ever seen/heard. Miss him!

For #FathersDay sharing a few words about David Holland. Photo of him telling a story and having a smoke! Passed away in 2012. He loved to fish, hunt, have conversations, the Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Dad worked for the NB Department of Transportation for 38 years and was a bridge inspector.

Parliament will receive a report this week on whether to expand assisted suicide in Canada. Most people believe #MAiD is only available for people at the end of life. But Canada’s law includes a second tier – for people with disabilities - who are not dying. We want it repealed. #DisabilityRights

Having worked in the sector, I have an appreciation for charities like Ducks Unlimited Canada and @ncccnc.bsky.social They raise funds to secure and steward high priority, sensitive habitats. Only to be negated by selfish, inconsiderate people. Penalties should be severe. cbc.ca/news/canada/ne…
