Don't feed your text to an AI program. Don't feed text that's been submitted to your magazine to an AI program. I understand the machines are getting better and better at mimicking our speech, but we need to focus on training our own brains to recognize them, not training them to improve.

Hard agree. And even aside from the obvious ethical issues, the idea that AI could reliably tell you if text is AI-generated is fundamentally flawed. LLMs are meant to mimic human writing. If there are AI tells that an AI could detect, the AI wouldn't have used them in the first place.

I really enjoy that my main source of info about this movie is you showing off the cool foresty props you made for it. I look forward to watching it and paying close attention to all the woodsy background scenery!

Just saw this post after recommending Cozy Grove; Cozy Grove is also all about death and grief, so perhaps hold off on that also! 😅

Also a huge fan of Cozy Grove, which is like a more melancholy Animal Crossing, with some actually great writing & story.

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is one I've really enjoyed and sounds like it could be your vibe! Kinda like BotW meets Stardew.

I actually thought "skilling" was fine but then I realized I was thinking of its use in the magic system of Robin Hobb's Realm of the Elderlings series, not...whatever this is.

I've also played Dogberry, wherein I forgot which of my lines came next, and accidentally managed to run through the entire scene backwards.

I have, in fact, played Mercutio and had an excellent time. Tybalt got overexcited in the duel and broke my rapier. I improvised something along the lines of "HALT! You wouldn't strike an unarmed foe!! Benvolio, lend me your blade!" so I could finish the duel and die properly. 😂

Oh for sure. My favourite thing about Moby Dick is that it's EVERY GENRE, often all at once.

Yippee! We reached our funding goal of adding a novella to the anthology! All of the support you've shown means "Descent" by #WoleTalabi will be included in the book. Our next goals still stand: variant covers, +doubled author pay! 3 days left! kck.st/4wtYJ6X [in bio]
background with a mountain and some trees, headshot of Wole Talabi wearing a red shirt, and cover of Clarkesworld magazine, text reads 'add a novella, pay the editor, more beautiful book, big ol book, sleek anthology' kickstarter logo, "descent" wole talabi in black text.

As a sky turbine repair tech, you're used to finding strange things caught in the mechanisms. Tiny dragonlet hoards stashed in gearboxes, or drifting spellweave wrapped around the blades like cotton candy. What do you carry down from the clouds with you today? #TinyTalesTuesday #WritingPrompt

Necromancy is a valid choice when you've lost a friend. André Geleynse's "Schrödinger's Bones" is a rough read for anyone who's lost a pet recently, but very very very relatable all the same:

Probably! I used to sleep under those in Chad. It's not a consistent problem, though; usually the room is NOT full of mosquitoes, but at the moment we have to leave the door open to the balcony for the dog when we're away all day. I have hopeful plans so this isn't necessary in the future. 😅
