I mentioned something on Monday about a Ryan Burke screamer being the twist this season needed?

I’m very glad I saw it in the cinema because if I was streaming it at home there’s every chance I would have turned it off before I understood what was actually happening. Brave call by Iñarritu to stick to the conceit for that long, and to advertise it that way.

A weird feature of Digger is that if you’re thoroughly enjoying it after half an hour or so, then it’s probably not the film for you. If you’re thinking about leaving, you’re in the right place. Last night I thought it was tedious, then intriguing, then very good. Today I think it’s incredible.

What I hate most about (gestures wildly at literally everything) *this* isn't even politics so much as the vile culture that goes with it. The "anti-woke" comedians, the Mar-a-Lago faces, the respectable transphobe columnists, the insane tech millionaires, the AI slop. It's like swimming in filth

There’s really only one way to mark the 99th anniversary of Roger Moore’s birth
Marc Haynes’ story: As a 7 year old in about 1983, … I was with my grandad in Nice Airport and saw Roger Moore Sitting at the departure gate, ... told my granddad i'd just seen James Bond and asked if we could go over so I could get his autograph. …so we walked over and he popped me in front of Roger Moore, with the words "my grandson says you're famous. Can you sign this?" As charming as you'd expect, Roger asks my name and signs the back of my plane ticket... I'm ecstatic, but …I glance down at the signature. … it definitely doesn't say 'James Bond'. ...I tell my grandad he's signed it wrong, … so my grandad heads back to Roger Moore...
"he says you've signed the wrong name. He says your name is James Bond." Roger Moore's face crinkled up with realisation and he beckoned me over. …he leant over, looked from side to side, raised an eyebrow and in a hushed voice said "I have to sign my name as 'Roger Moore because otherwise...Blofeld might find out I was here." He asked me not to tell anyone …and thanked me for keeping his secret. I went back to our seats, my nerves absolutely jangling with delight. My grandad asked me if he'd signed 'James Bond.' No, I said.
I'd got it wrong. I was working with James Bond now. Many years later, I was working on a recording that involved UNICEF, and Roger Moore was doing a piece to camera as an ambassador. He was lovely and while the cameramen were setting up, I told him the story. He …had a chuckle and said "Well, I don't remember but I'm glad you got to meet James Bond." So that was lovely. And then he did something so brilliant. After the filming, he walked past me in the corridor, heading out to his car - but as he got level, he paused looked both ways, raised an eyebrow and in a hushed voice said, "Of course I remember our meeting in Nice. But I didn't say anything in there, because those cameramen - any one of them could be working for Blofeld."
I was as delighted at 30 as I had been at 7. What a man. What a tremendous man.

Only thing giving me hope is that the second half is often wildly different in this fixture. A Ryan Burke screamer to win it is the twist this season deserves.

I wish people understood how much of a choice it is by the politicians in Ireland and the UK. Outside of the major cities, many of them have never used public transport on a regular basis (if at all) and see it as being for poor people and parasites.

Sure, they certainly deserve a place ahead of City. But a fella can dream of a league with neither of them.

Completely agree. Yesterday felt extra weird because I found myself wondering if a City win would actually be the best thing for us, as it surely won’t count for them at the end of the season, but keeps Liverpool well behind us. The tragic part is that a City points deduction might keep Sp*r/s up.

Here’s the thing, your average politician is far too tech-illiterate to understand the implication, and will keep allowing this botspew to influence government policy, citing “legitimate concerns” and “strong evidence of public opinion.”

Yeah, I was never his biggest fan but something has gone horribly wrong for DJT in the last few months. I know some centre-forwards have a languid style, but he really is just constantly standing flat-footed in the box and his recent misses are the stuff of nightmares.

I'm so grateful for this pushback. I'm grateful to be seeing widespread pushback against AI because of the cost to the environment, our wallets, and our rights, but I'm worried that too few people are pushing back because it undermines our trust in expertise and experience. #spéirgorm

It wasn’t half as babbling and deranged as this but I saw a clip on BBC earlier where he was asked about Scotland Yard and was all “Oh yeah, I think they’ll catch them, I really rate Scotland Yard, those guys know what they’re doing” and it’s clearly just because of some vague memory of a movie.

League of Ireland clubs have been vehemently against this match, more or less across the board. The only current Ireland player to have been involved with a League of Ireland club in recent times is Gavin Bazunu. He has my respect for listening to people he trusts.
