We pray the Song of Zechariah every morning, in the course of the Daily Office. The day before my ordination to the priesthood, I choked up at the words, “To give his people knowledge of salvation / by the forgiveness of their sins.”

Reminds me of when my Biblical Hebrew teacher said we had to stop putting "behold!" in our English translations because nobody talks like that anymore. Naturally we started saying "behold!" in class. "Behold! Here is my homework. Lo, it was difficult and indeed I have questions."

If it helps, I was surprised and humbled by how much this didn’t bother my Gen Z teens. They often had a very “well of course, that makes sense” attitude about some of things that my own Christian fundamentalist background would have been pretty upset by, and that I’d sometimes try to preempt.

And the liturgy of my sponsoring parish, Christ Church Bronxville, is definitely modern, American “Sarum Use.” They’re where the Gospel procession now common across TEC was first introduced. (It was pretty emotional to proclaim the Gospel for the first time as a Deacon in that nave!)

I haven’t heard confessions quite yet, but yes it can be the forms in the prayer book! We keep it open to Form One in the confessional booths.
