Love this article. Talked to one of my friends who played on the Sol, and she says it all checks out. They treated players extremely well and embraced LGBTQ fans (neither were standard at the time), and then folded abruptly, which was sad and made us all worry about the stability of the league.

I use AI at my job everyday, it's a requirement. My account was recently reset. I'd had it set to be as impersonal and clinical and terse as I could make it. Like a word calculator. When it was set back to the stock version, I was taken aback at how sycophantic and overly familiar it is.

I don't think my abandonment of any businesses or platforms (Amazon, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit) has resulted in any significant regrets. Twitter is the closest with the loss of community, but it was so impossible to exist peacefully in that space that it was necessary to leave. Just drop out.
