I won't go into the intricacies of why Eby opted to call an election, but letting this current batch of antivax, convoy, ostrich lover Christian nationalists run BC, when they can't even govern themselves would be a disaster. #bcpoli

Omg, this is SO depressing. This is what happens when a decent government (Eby’s) is relentlessly attacked on every issue. Helping to usher in dangerous #MapleMAGA Cons. Governing is hard, unless you come in & destroy everything, create massive debt & gut services, as Cons always do. #BCpoli

I met the NDP candidate for Lake Country last night at Harwinders open house. It's not the Métis lady, a different person ended up getting the nomination. Her family owns Farming Karma, she seems very nice.

This was the story of many Métis, including my great-grandpa. He didn't like to speak much about his years in residential school except to say that the nuns were very mean, they beat him often, especially because he was left-handed. 😞
Métis-themed image showing an older person’s hands holding an orange beaded medallion decorated with floral beadwork and a white Métis infinity symbol. A colourful Métis sash crosses the lower part of the image, with a prairie river landscape and feather in the background. The image includes the poem:
“They told us to say French instead of Métis,
To hide the Red River flowing in our bones,
My mother spoke the language of the prairie,
Before they turned her skin and tongue to stone.
She arrived at school with words like rivers rushing,
But the heavy wooden ruler brought the shame,
With every strike upon her bleeding knuckles,
They tried to break our history and our name.
But the river doesn’t forget its winding waters,
And the sash we wear still binds us to the past,
No wooden rule can silence Red River daughters,
Our truth is speaking loud and free at last.”

There can be no reconciliation without truth. Believe survivors. Listen to the truth. Learn. 🧡 And make sure it is never minimized or forgotten.
Memorial image for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation showing a pair of small, worn, beaded moccasins in the foreground, with many other children’s shoes blurred behind them. Large text reads: “Remembering the Indigenous children who were taken and never returned. National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.” An orange feather appears beside the text.Orange graphic with a black-and-white portrait of Duncan Campbell Scott. Large white text quotes him as saying: “It is readily acknowledged that Indian children lose their natural resistance to illness by habituating so closely in the residential schools, and that they die at a much higher rate than in their villages. But this alone does not justify a change in the policy of this Department, which is geared towards a final solution of our Indian problem.” The quote is attributed to Duncan Campbell Scott, 1910. Smaller text states that Scott was Superintendent of Indian Education from 1909 to 1913 and Deputy Superintendent General of Indian Affairs from 1913 to 1932.Square poster for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. At the top it reads, “September 30 • National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.” In the centre, large red script says, “Every Métis Child Matters.” Below is the message: “For the children who were silenced, for the languages they were punished for speaking, for the families who carried the pain, and for the survivors whose stories must be heard. We remember. We honour. We will not forget. Every Child Matters.” The design has a warm parchment background, Métis infinity symbols and floral beadwork motifs, red poppies, and a bison standing at sunset.Historic sepia photograph labeled “Coqualeetza, c. 1890,” showing a large group of Indigenous children and several adults posed outside a brick residential school building. An orange banner at the top reads “National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.”

“It takes strength to look in the mirror”. In #Canada today, we recognize National Day of #TruthandReconciliation. Premier of #Manitoba, #WabKinew explains the importance of learning about what Canada did to Indigenous children in Residential Schools and work TOWARDS Truth and Reconciliation.

With every election, both provincial and federal, we end up having the same discussion about strategic voting. I have already seen people saying that strategic voting is a bully tactic. So I thought this would be a good time to talk about some real data from the 2024 BC election.

Eby is trying to do this in a roundabout way by making the election about Trump, but he needs to take the gloves off and speak plainly "The Canadian right are deeply intertwined with the fascist US right wing, and they need to be kept out of office at all costs if we care about our sovereignty"

Yes! It is so insidious. It's like the asinine belief that trump, someone born to wealth and privilege, would ever give a rats-ass about the common man, the working man, or the marginalized person. Council, and government, should reflect the people it's there to serve. Diversity is strength.

Amy K @amyklassen.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Indeed. Of the 15 people running for council there are only 3 progressive/ left of center candidates. That scares me. One guy is a sure thing, the other is a strong contender, then me, the long shot. I am also the only person who does not own a home or business. We need some diversity at the table.

It's bat-sht banana-pants crazy-town! Apparently Scott and his team did something to lose the trust and support of Stinson. Haven't figured out what yet, but I'm dying to know! Castanet reported that someone hacked his account and made the original post denouncing Anderson, so he made this video.
