I head home today! I did my first truly solo vacation to a place I've never been. The few vacations I've had before as an adult, I met someone at the airport so I really only flew by myself. So hurray I did it. Back to bring a mildly agoraphobic little troll. This was expensive and mid overall.

Bekta is a cat who needs a human. She's clearly uncomfortable in the shelter. The unfamiliar environment and the large number of other cats are overwhelming, forcing withdraw from everyone. She's having a hard time right now, and barely interacts with anyone. #cats

The division that has a robust front office in my regional office is amazing at records management. They can pull anything, and fast. They track their FOIAs extremely well and get them done as quick as possible. One time they found an old tape recording from the 70/80s ish and we got it digitized!

FOIA is generally done *in addition* to other full-time duties, and there is often not funding for front office staff to help with administrative tasks and records management because they're seen as "bloat." They are not. They're vital.

Fun fact: there often isn't a centralized list for smaller agencies. They frequently aren't given the funding for the software needed to track that in one place. It's split up by region or location in little excel files or even in physical logs (yes really).

Me, a FOIA professional watching this missing national parks show: Oh my god, there's no single list, you have to ask for reports or incidents because they don't have to create a new record, and submit individual requests per park so it's more manageable and you can review records in chunks.
