In May 2009, Ban Ki-moon flew over the largest internment camp in Asia. Below him, nearly 300,000 Tamil civilians were held behind barbed wire in Menik Farm, northern Sri Lanka, displaced by the final months of a civil war that killed many tens of thousands.
