People all over Minnesota are out right now! This is so great; and there's two more Fridays to sign up for. The anti-Somali crap, the Islamophobia, the hate--it's not going to stop coming our way. And we won't stop protecting people from it. Sign up!

Yo! Time to protect our Muslim neighbors, again. The rhetoric coming from DC is sick; and dangerous. So. Let's show up--every Friday, 12-230. Scan the code, go to the bitly, protect, eat, vote. Together. (And if you're in NE and wanna be with me up on Lowry, let's do it!)

purple flyer:
MN's Love Our Neighbors. We stand together
We Vote Together
In response to the dangerous rhetoric from federal officials, Minnesotans are gathering outside local mosques during Friday prayer to show support and look out for our neighbors. After prayer, Minnesotans will enjoy tea and sambusas, then go together to the polls to vote.

1. Visit your local mosque during Friday prayers to stand in support of our Muslim neighbors. Register to let us know you're coming.

2. Bring a vest, whistle and a sign.

3. After Friday prayers, join others planning to vote by going to the polls together. Rides will be available.

Friday, Oct 16th, 23rd & 30th
12 pm -2:30 pm

Register in advance @ bit.ly/NeighborsVoteMN

there is a QR code on the flyer to the right of the time & date.

There is also the image of a red 'I voted' sticker'

at the @hourcar.bsky.social rally and rep @katiejonesmpls.bsky.social talking abt how car share is a transit enabler, and I just kinda love that. It allows people to move away from owning their.own car into more opportunities.

this kind of voter outreach pisses me off. it's creepy. if you want to remind people to vote, pick up the phone, text them, ask them in person. you don't need to know if they've voted in the past. this is not voter engagement, this is voter shame.

Some of the best people I know use @metrotransitmn.bsky.social to get around! Good to see CMs @jchavezmpls.bsky.social, @aurinmpls.bsky.social and @sorenwithward8.bsky.social (and to hear their #busride stories, really!)

But Next on the bottom of the page just takes you to an ActBlue donate link (Democratic Governors Association). For some reason the 88% not being 100% because you finished the survey just bothers me.

Ok, I know it's campaign season; and money asks are going out every day from candidates & orgs & pacs. The first part of this text survey is issues, will you vote Dem, etc. And this one bothers me because it says 88% complete at the top.

Ooh wait. Not Marshall's. Maybe the Office Max/Depot but I don't remember an escalator. I got discombobulated. But the people wandering was so unsettling, and a little beautiful.

@christin-with-mpls.bsky.social talking about her path to running for school board, and it's always really good to hear how it's rarely a dramatic story. It's just people who want better for their community, and that's what we always need.

it's weird. @metrotransitmn.bsky.social has these great digital displays but they put the actual useful information up on a small paper sign. ALSO. Do better than a website and phone number. Not everyone has access to the internet on their phone, or even a phone. GOD. #busride
