Thinking outside the binding site: Drug molecule makes a square peg fit a round hole
A square peg doesn't fit a round hole. But what if the peg could change the shape of the hole? A newly developed drug molecule can do something surprisingly similar when binding to its target protein, according to a University at Buffalo-led study published Tuesday (Sept.

So (if I understand this correctly), the way AI (companies) will "solve" all the major problems in maths, biology, and medicine in the next 5 years will be by stealing and building on the ideas of researchers naive enough to think their chats with AI companies would be private.

Researchers say the Trump administration is finding new ways to punish science
Even with federal grants largely restored, scientists say the Trump administration is still preventing those funds from reaching them. The consequences, they say, are already becoming clear.

We're excited to share this latest preprint from the lab. Here, Jitendra (Richie) Singh characterized a free-standing condensation domain from a NRPS cluster that makes a fatty acyl amide. Oddly, it's a dimer that occludes the donor ACP interface and dissociates to interact with acyl-ACP.

Related (maybe?): Has anyone sought or received guidance on the "no website except your MyNCBI bibliography" vs "you can cite websites as work products in the new BioSketch"? It appears that if the website is an ORCID "work", it can be included – which seems to conflict with original intent.
