Batman and Robin: Year One was AMAZING. One of my favorite comics of this year, in a year that's been pretty stacked. @markwaid.bsky.social and @chrissamnee.bsky.social stuck the landing on a perfect origin story for the Batman/Robin dynamic. Felt equally grounded and fantastical. 10/10 stuff.

Superman was excellent. Loved how they used Lois' rational, journalistic skepticism as a lens to view Superman's optimism. Just like her, you fall in love with a man who really just wants to help. 4 out of 5 stars.

Franklin is somehow less of a character than Master Chief, Gordan Freeman, or any Call of Duty protagonist. The health/armor system is a chore in a game that wants to be wacky. The plot goes nowhere and meanders for 90% of the game.

Yes, adjusted for inflation games were much more expensive back in the day. But back in the day there weren't inexpensive or free substitutes for big video games like there are today with f2p, subs, etc. Apples and oranges to compare today to the 90s when it comes to game pricing. Shrug.
