The Oct 7 attack by Hamas was a horrific act against Israelis that made everything worse for Palestinians, the Israeli government committed war crimes, Hezbollah is a fascistic organisation that exploits its community, the IRGC feeds off endless war at home and abroad All these things are true

That substantial portions of the European and US Left struggle with the idea that it is possible to condemn criminal actions by the Israeli government while also condemning the vicious brutality of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Iranian regime continues to baffle me.

Flight attendant’s breast cancer was occupational disease, court rules
Sophie Lainault, who worked for Air France, wins legal case linking illness to more than 12,600 hours on flights A flight attendant in France has succeeded in having her breast cancer recognised as an occupational disease, a first for the country’s aviation industry, her lawyer and a trade union said. The ruling, which recognised that Sophie Lainault, a former flight attendant for Air France, had frequently worked at night and been exposed to passive smoking, could pave the way for similar claims, the lawyer and the CFDT union said. As a trans woman, it’s especially bonkers to me that there’s all this fake concern about puberty blockers for teens (an undeniable life-saving treatment in terms of suicidality) and seemingly zero worries about an antidepressant that makes you *more* suicidal if you miss a dose. Such bullshit.

If I try to taper off of my antidepressant (venlafaxine), I start to get minor seizures. This is a widely known effect in online groups of Effexor patients, yet plenty of docs deny it. A doc will taper patients off a med within a month or two, but to get off of this safely it takes over a year.
