One of the things we should ABSOLUTELY do when progressives hold the levers of power again is to allocate 0.25% or so from every federal program for a public service announcement campaign *about the program/service.* People don't know what they don't know, but they often love it when they find out

Either the U.S. government *is* able to exert monetary and diplomatic pressure on El Salvador sufficient to produce Abrego Garcia’s release, or it isn’t. The latter would be either a bald-faced lie or a pretty stunning concession of our national impotence. The Vice President should pick one.

A few years back a neighbor told me he was denied money from the state crime victim's compensation fund after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver and had to crawl out of the road on his hands and knees to avoid being killed. It haunted me and I've wanted to write a story about CVCs ever since. 🧵

We need to give up the framing that they imprisoned a man in El Salvador “mistakenly.” Their actions prove this is intentional. Did they mean for this to be the trial run? Don’t know. But they’re running hard with it. That’s not a “mistake.” That’s fascism.

In defiance of the Supreme Court & without any evidence, the White House claims that Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a “terrorist,” who was “sent to the right place.” This is a blatant LIE. He is innocent. He cannot be allowed to rot in an El Salvadorian jail. He must be brought home.

"She has been quoted in The Guardian talking about the benefits of walking (paid content), in Newsweek talking about white lies, Marie Claire talking about the meaning of money, the Daily Mirror talking about the benefits of sleeping with your dog, in The Sun talking about sexual positions, Pop Sugar talking about astrology, and Mail Online talking about how often to change your pillow.

Santini was recently quoted in a BBC article examining the lifelike responses of AI to Rorschach tests used by some psychologists saying: “If an AI’s response resembles a human’s, it’s not because it sees the same thing but it’s because its training data mirrors our collective visual culture.”

Tomorrow’s going to be a good stress test of the press. El Salvadoran President Bukele will visit the White House. At the press availability, every Q ought to be about Abrego Garcia: where is he now? Did US ask you to return him? etc. WH will hate, maybe try to prevent, so all should band together.

Marco Rubio just announced 10 more people were sent to be imprisoned in CECOT. They were flown there from Gitmo to be imprisoned potentially for life based not on any crime for which they were convicted, but on unproven allegations of gang membership with no due process. This is not lawful.
Rubio on X: Last night, another 10 criminals from the MS-13 and Tren de Aragua Foreign Terrorist Organizations arrived in El Salvador.

Here is the order that Judge Xinis issued yesterday. They have only filed information relating to the first point, not the other two. Again, possible there’s a sealed filing.
Accordingly, it is hereby ORDERED that beginning April 12, 2025, and continuing each
day thereafter until further order of the Court, Defendants shall file daily, on or before 5:00 PM ET, a declaration made by an individual with personal knowledge as to any information regarding:
(1) the current physical location and custodial status of Abrego Garcia; (2) what steps, if any, Defendants have taken to facilitate his immediate return to the United States; (3) what additional steps Defendants will take, and when, to facilitate his return.' A follow-up in-person hearing will be scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
