As someone who loves Elden Ring and hasn't played more than 2 hours of the DLC... after talking about the early game earlier, I'm like fully into the idea of starting a new vanilla game. Last two times I've played new characters have been with either Seamless Co-op or Convergence installed.

If you're already teetering on the edge of sticking with this game, I don't think that much help will be a negative, but if it is. sorry for spoiling. I don't think I've ever missed Renna's appearance at the church, but it being so open, you likely just haven't gone back, or if you have, only at day

As for Incantations, those are Faith magic, largely. They utilise Seals (weapons). I can't recall the earliest seal you can find.

I could have sworn you got the summoning bell from her. Okay. Googled it. After obtaining Torrent, wait at Grace until nighttime, go to the Church of Elleh (the one I mentioned near where you start). She'll be waiting outside of the church.

Have you met Renna? I don't actually remember what causes her to show up 100%. She's the doll looking girl with the split blue ghost. IIRC she lets you summon them? I think you need to rest at the site of Grace at the church near spawn, around where the Tree Sentinel is.

But if you have the Jellyfish spirit, she's GREAT in that fight.

You're not super underleveled. Especially if you have +1/2 in your weapon. I'll be honest, I think the last couple times I fought Margit I was likely 30-40 because I did way too much beforehand. You can get *far* before even seeing him if you know where to look.

I did. He is *the* boss wall. I'd wait on him for a bit tbh. It probably took me 20-30 tries to kill him on my first playthrough. Usually still takes me 2-5.

"I beat the game without summons." quickly turns into "I beat the game blindfolded." quickly turns into "I beat the game by using whistle sounds translated to controller movements while in another house watching through binoculars." Don't limit yourself if you don't *really* want to.

To me, hitting a boss wall is fine. I just try a few times, and end up going somewhere else. It's how the game is designed, really. And NPC summons are as well. They shouldn't feel like cheating any more than using a held item in Pokémon does.

But if that's not really what you were looking for, I get how that can feel overwhelming or just not great in general. If you can shift your perspective enough to not treat the game as "where do I go now?" and more "I can't go there, let's go look around" I might click better.

I assume you mean more direction than the line of grace pointing you in the direction of your next main story objective? It's a somewhat valid complaint. I think the relative directionlessness is why I like it so much. Exploration becomes a necessity. And there's SO much to find.

Adding anisotropy to the metal shader, as well as adding even just a noise shader into roughness, with a color ramp node in between to fine tune it. Very quick and easy way to make metal more realistic.

Makes sense. Having ~3 tiiiiiny faces (total, 3 including the original edge) around ~90° edges catch light. Adds tons of realism quick and cheap. The more the better, technically, but 3 is a good starting point, especially with a subdivision modifier.

Fuck I said tiny twice. I'm at work and focusing on too many things. Either way, good job. It's much better than my first Blender project.

Depending on your topography, this could take anywhere from 5m to an hour to implement. Ctrl+R (from memory) will add edgeloops. Ideally, add subdivision, then add edgeloops to bring the model back to what it's supposed to look like, but keep the harsh angles a tiny bit bevelled. Even a tiny amount.

Not bad. I'd add edge loops around sharp edges and subdivision. Generally, you want to avoid ~90° angles. If you're going for lowpoly, I'd recommend flat shading. I'd also recommend a 3 point lighting setup for a showcase like this (and in general unless you're deliberately going for something else)

Honestly, the Ocarina of Time remake is kinda whatever to me. Neat, will probably get it as I have a Switch 2. Just not really looking forward to it. But the thought occurred to me that we'll get modern official interpretations of Dead Hand and the original Redead design. My interest went up 🤏.

And I specify anime here because if we include manga, I like Bleach the most. The Bleach anime, however, was rough until TYBW. It absolutely had moments, and Shiro Sagisu is the 🐐, but overall it was meh.
