The system is geared to extraction and concentration of wealth. Trickle-up economics in the form of UBI could work, but this would involve treating everyone like they’re human, which is not a universally popular idea.

A good explanation of why I’ve gone from Remain to Stay Out. I still think remain was the better choice, but until it’s clear that the UK wants to work with the EU instead of extract from the EU, it’s mad for them to welcome us back. It would just revive more Eurobashing & another leave referendum.

Plants in natural environments often encounter multifactorial abiotic stress combinations that trigger regulatory responses distinct from those triggered by individual stresses. Traditional single-stress paradigms inadequately capture these complex interactions, limiting crop improvement efforts. Here, we discuss how plants integrate conserved signaling pathways with combination-specific regulatory modules (CSRMs) across multiple regulatory layers to mediate stress tolerance. Using recent findings, including the identification of specific transcription factor complexes that decode unique stress combinations, we highlight how CSRMs coordinate downstream protective pathways such as reactive oxygen species buffering. These insights suggest a multi-layered regulatory logic underlying plant adaptation to combined stresses. Leveraging CSRMs through integrative discovery and engineering approaches offers a promising avenue for developing climate-smart crops with potentially enhanced and stable tolerance under unpredictable field conditions.

William Hill are only offering 7/2 on a Count Binface victory. Farage is still the favourite at 1/7, but that’s tighter than it should be. Given Nigel seems to have planned putting everything into an angry campaign, those odds could get tighter if he is exposed as humourless in a joke election.
