I made a post about it but here are the numbers for you. San Diego alone houses 17% of the Navy, 30% of the Marine Corps, 8% of the Military in general, 250k vets. Pearl Harbor housed 3% of the Navy, but most of the Pacific Fleet.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Unated States of America in Congress assembled, That chapter 33 of "Smokey Hear." title 18 of the United States Code be amended by adding a new section 62 Stat. 731. to be known as section 711, as follows:
§ 711. Smokey Bear' character or name
"Whoever, except as authorized under rules and regulations issued by the Secretary of Agriculture after consultation with the Association of State Foresters and the Advertising Couneil, knowingly manu-factures, reproduces, or uses the character Smokey Bear, originated by the Forest Service, United States Department of Agrieulture, in cooperation with the Association of State Foresters and the Advertising Council for use in publie information concerning the prevention of forest fires, or any facsimile thereof, or the name Smokey

as a trade name or in such manner as suggests the character Smokey Bear' shall be fined not more than $250 or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

SEc. 3. The Secretary of Agriculture shall deposit into a special Deposit of
account to be available for furthering the nation-wide forest-fire prevention campaign all fees collected under regulations promulgated by him relating to "Smokey Bear" under the provisions of section 711
