I was honestly kinda disappointed by the latest "Otherwords." like, you're really gonna tell us the planets are named after gods… and English days of the week are named after gods… and so are the days of the week in Romance languages… but not draw any lines between the three?!

update: I installed and (mostly) configured my programs on the external boot drive today, so then I decided to shut down, unplug, and try one more time to get the internal drive working, just for fun folks… it worked

so the internal drive is some kinda fried, but I got an external drive to boot from today. got the OS installed and my backed-up files transferred (all safe). still work to do setting up programs and preferences, but my computer is a computer again, crisis averted
