The Zebra has blocked me after I called out their use of AI, attempt to blame that shitty map on the City, and dirty deletes. Maybe now that they’ve abandoned journalism, they can get a job at the dog place since they have a similar perspectives on sharing the truth.

If you have an Air Force base or museum with some planes on sticks, walking under fighters is a great way to get a sense of the scale difference.

This sucks. Hadn’t heard the song until the media circus. I listen to plenty of older country & newer cross-over but algorithms didn’t push it. And if it did? I wouldn’t seek a relisten. I don’t think it is great but it isn’t worthy of any hate. Maybe the charts or this summer’s songs just suck?

A gripe I have with prediction markets is the way they’ve turned betting from an opportunity to seriously think through an issue into an impulsive get-rich-quick gamble

Today, on the 54th anniversary of Mark Spitz’ Olympic feat, I learned that “from 1968 to 2016, Jewish-American swimmers captured 48 Olympic medals, 29 of them gold.” So much for light reading.

I revere Dolly Parton much as I do Fred Rogers. They’re people who made it their life goal just to be gentle and kind to everyone that they met. They are prime examples of how we all should behave and live our lives.

One of the great things about Dolly Parton (besides all of the stuff from being a wonderful person) is how she blended the soul of outlaw country with Nashville style better than anyone else

Typical timeline right now: Lawful entry followed by timely asylum application, receipt notice literally says "You may remain in the U.S. until your application is decided," work permit issued, never violated any law. Then ICE arrests them, puts them in a filthy jail w/o bond and tweets about it.

Most US voters barely understand even the basics on immigration and citizenship. Weirdly, I think that's a positive when you think of the upside. The more you learn about this broken system, the more sympathetic you become to those navigating it + those who've allegedly violated its rules.

As long as you are respectful of the place you’re visiting & those around you there is no wrong way to do a tourism. You can go to all the museums or walk aimlessly through the streets or veg out or do a big package vacation. Your experiences make you & when you’re on vacation you get to choose them

Comic. [Person and person with white hat facing two boxes stacked with $80 price tag and sale tag on each box.] PERSON 1: They want $80 for this? I could make one myself for $10 in parts, an hour of work, a trip to the hardware store, another $30 in parts, another few hours of work, two more trips to the store for $20 more in parts, another hour of work to redo the first hour of work because I messed up, and $80 to buy this when the one I made breaks.
