My library has been asking teachers to share the titles of their favorite books for an interactive display, which has had the very fantastic side effect of teachers are now loaning me their favorite books.
Book cover of Greenteeth by Molly O'Neill. Cover features a sharp-toothed green-skinned woman entangled with vines and lily pads.

✨GIVEAWAY✨ for an advance copy of MONSTERA. Like and reskeet this post, then tell me how many points you have: 10- preordered Monstera 9- chose it for book club 8- added it on Goodreads or Storygraph 7- requested at the library 6- joined the preorder swag giveaway 5- added to TBR 4- heard of it
This is an image of the book Monstera against a chartreuse background with flowers. Monstera has a bloodied hand holding a gardening tool, also bloodied, amidst a handful of greenery. I really can't stress enough how much blood, hands, and plants are involved. Like, A LOT.

Therapy is too advanced for these guys. They spend their whole lives trying not to have feelings so they have to do weird shit like this in order to even express an emotion. But the weird group behavior part also allows them to express the emotions without acknowledging any internal source.

Alright everybody, time to text the teachers in your life. The fall semester is open at SkypeAScientist and we are ready to match classrooms, scout troops, library groups, and more with scientists! Tell the educators in your life, and send them to SkypeAScientist.com
A frog uses its comically long tongue to catch a fleeing fly and the words say “send this to a teacher” pointing right. Then under the tongue it says “Skype a scientist matches classrooms with scientists for free Q&As” and there’s a little pond scene with lily pads and spatterdock flowers and a rock with a snail on it and a salamander with the words get a match at Skype scientist.com

I got an ADHD diagnosis in my early 20s. It was such a total surprise to me (I was not seeking an ADHD diagnosis and did not even suspect it). I found it helpful to talk to people online about it. I really appreciate when people are open about mental health so we can find community.

I found this page in a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book at work. Jeff Kinney really nailed it.
A page from Diary of a wimpy kid. The first panel shows a picture of The Giving Tree with Shel Silverstein's face on the back. The text reads "But Shel Silverstein looks more like a burglar or a pirate then a guy who should be writing books for kids. Dad must have known that picture kind of freaked me out, because one night after I got out of bed, dad said "If you get out of bed again tonight, you'll probably run into Shel Silverstein in the hallway". The picture shows a boy tucked in bed. His dad stand over him, holding The Giving Tree with Shel Silverstein's face pointed at the boy.

The NPS will launch 850,000 fireworks in the middle of the night. (Last year, they launched 7,000) That will dump perchlorates and heavy metals into the Potomac River and cause the amount of soot and smoke particles to skyrocket (pardon), at great danger to any creature that breathes.

HEY GUYS THROW THESE FOLKS A DOLLAR QLL helps anyone in the US who can download a free library app access queer literature! It's a really great and discreet way for people to read queer lit as our government tries to suppress it, including youth who may not feel safe bringing physical books home.
