More than six years on from the beginning of Covid please can we start getting air purifiers/HEPA filters in public places/businesses? I do not like getting sick when the windows-closed season comes around.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'll believe that fuel is too expensive when I don't routinely see people parked up in their cars with the engine running.

I've started watching Good Boy, It's a nice harmless silly fun Korean cop show. No brain required.

maybe not anything smart as in WiFi controlled? But I think having a smart tap (i.e. instant boiling water tap) is a sign you've made it in life. and does render the kettle unnecessary

Alex @alexswilliams.co.uk · 30/09/2026
this is a dangerous pipeline, the next step is a smart tap to fill the smart kettle

I sometimes stay in the hotel on the otherwise for work, and "commuted by ferry" is a fun silly little achievement. But getting stuck on one side after the ferry stops means a miserably long walk round, but a bridge could stay open. Identical complaint with the cablecar on the other side.

I love this pattern - let me look at my choice after I make it so I know I clicked correctly, don't whisk it away from me

I mean you can say it in other ways, "how do we ensure good customer outcomes", "how do we test this", "can we protect against legal issues with providing incorrect information", "how do we survive every supplier raising prices", etc. but also, "what do the customers want?" is up there too

its not implausible that sufficient might be two or three different tokens, like suf/ficient, and you're just seeing the underlying randomness that drives the generation cause a less likely next particle to be output?

Can we not fucking do this? Sometimes cycle paths come to these things called "junctions" and for them to work, we have to all stop when our light is red!

I saw exactly this yesterday described as a low-stakes conspiracy and honestly it's not even that, it's just outright probable.

Ha thank you, yes it is, which I suppose is expected after this summer. I went past it in April and the plughole was roaring with water so hopefully it will recover to that level over winter. The reservoirs along the Long Causeway were similarly dry.

Desperately hoping this is a real-life thing and not an in-game thing, because that means we've entered the era of ubiquitous mech droids

Treating myself to a peak-time train ticket. There are 8 people on this 12 car train direct to London. I have 3 carriages to myself. Almost worth the cost.
