the odyssey discourse is a beautiful perfect window into right wing culture war psychosis. they went from hysterial racist mania over a character that’s on screen for 5 minutes to claiming there’s a massive conspiracy to fake ticket sales. this is just what they do for everything now. they’re insane
BREAKING: The Odyssey is FAKING ticket sales by buying up theaters/seats (Fraud) to make the movie look like a success (already $400 million in the hole) moviegoers are reporting having to take terrible seats (because full) but when they show up the theaters are mostly empty.

#WorldOceanDay - Two Roman altars dedicated to Neptune and Oceanus by the Sixth Legion Victrix Pia Fidelis, showing symbols associated with each deity. The altars are thought to have formed part of a shrine on the Pons Aelius bridge (Newcastle), which the legion helped build around AD 120/2.

Alexandria Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, located in Alexandria city. Considered the largest #Roman burial site in #Egypt, that dates back to the 2nd C AD. It was discovered by pure chance in 1900 when a donkey-drawn cart fell into the access shaft. #TombTuesday #Archaeology

A late Roman burial, discovered at the former Essex County Hospital site in Colchester, will be on public display. The woman was buried in a decorated lead coffin accompanied by jet hairpins, a group of rare glass flasks, and other grave goods.
