The stock reached GBX237 last week, now closer to the IP Group strike price at c. GBX218. My estimate is that their next tranche of partial realisation would be at GBX250-275, and that they would continue holding a significant amount even if above GBX300,

IP Group, one of the big holders of Oxford Nanopore (ONT) stock, has now unloaded 10M shares for about £21M (approx. share price GBX210). They still retain about 70.7M shares, which would be valued at around £151.5M at that price.

Protein: Same-cell protein profiling across any RNA plex. This is more complex than RNA, because a specific antibody or similar affinity reagent has to be created, so it takes time to produce these panels.

Lots of chatter about a possible M&A move in the #NGS #LongReads companies, either Oxford @nanoporetech.com or PacBio $PACB @pacbio.bsky.social or both. There are a few other long-reads companies out there, but not nearly as established.

There is so much frothiness at the early stages of #biotech, that the inevitable boom-and-bust cycle will prune out the lower tier of contenders, and only the best handful will survive to make it big. The #Loxbridge #Triangle is a small subset of the US West Coast mindset, but more brain than money.
020
Albert Vilella, PhD. @albertvilella.bsky.social · 11/08/2026
France with #Mistral is an outlier here: same conservative mentality as Germany, success story that could gain traction if the #SovereignAI movements inject some motivation into it.
120
Albert Vilella, PhD. @albertvilella.bsky.social · 11/08/2026
Outside of the Biotech environment, #AI is obviously one very striking example of such #GoldRush to a new field: the US West Coast is king, China following behind, the Loxbridge triangle has good success stories such as #DeepMind (now reorg'ed) and similar. Germany, not much headlines material.
110
Albert Vilella, PhD. @albertvilella.bsky.social · 11/08/2026
One way of seeing it is that given a new-fangled #biotech recent trend, the US West Coast and Loxbridge will jump to the opportunity and see if they can move the needle early on. Germany being more conservative, waits until the practical application is settled, and applies it in health care.
