There’s only one “good” #RoboCop movie, and what Verhoeven brought to it cannot be recaptured. But I’m surprised at how much I enjoyed my binge watch of the weaker and/or creatively compromised sequels. Each cleared my (admittedly very low) expectations and had something to like on its own merits.

I once had a job moderating comments from conservative white Australians who were VERY annoyed when Fraser Island reverted to its traditional name, K’gari. They said the name they knew and grew up with was being changed for no good reason. So many people SO CLOSE to an epiphany, yet so far.
