OCD patients detect visual stimuli similarly to ctrls but show altered confidence. While chronic deep brain stimulation improved clinical symptoms, acute stim changes did not affect detec, confidence, or EEG, suggesting STN-DBS may be insufficient to modulate metacognitive alterations in OCD. 🧪

😴 Your patient with DBS experiences sleep disturbances. Why is that, and can DBS parameters be adjusted to improve sleep? These are among the questions we address in our recent narrative review on the effects of deep brain stimulation and invasive neuromodulation on sleep and wafefulness.

Preprint alert! 🧪 We developed an sEEG approach to identify individualized brain stimulation targets for severe OCD. By leveraging the organization of the internal capsule (ALIC), we could selectively modulate connected cortical regions. VC pathways to the OFC produced improvements in symptoms.
