“No thank you” is also a perfectly acceptable response if you would prefer not to see nudes (or my nudes in particular) of course.

(And of course, where art and politics overlap, there’s still the art aspect and thus the post is on-topic for an art account!)

(I don’t talk politics *much* on this account bc I’m really trying to keep it art-focused and not derail with rants I can make on main instead, but it’s impossible to completely separate art from politics and trying is foolish!)

Once caught some dipshit bitching that the band we had both gone to see (not together, some rando after the show) had done some political commentary in the banter. The tour was promoting an album with a blatantly political diss track on it. Fake-ass fanboys not even listening to the album, smh.

Yep. No one should be surprised when Green Day shows get political. If you’re surprised, you weren’t paying attention to the music and why are you at a show for a band you care so little about, anyway? Don’t like political shows? Don’t go to Green Day. It’s not hard.

If this really, truly is one's approach, the belief one carries in the heart, the only move is not to say anything at all, not even "I don't intend to speak about this." Because the second you announce that "no politics" is your politics, you're doing politics - shitty, cowardly politics.

🐉+🪰 Yes, the dragonfly was drawn with this very brush. 🧐🔍
Detail from a silhouette drawing in black ink of a dragonfly, photographed with a penny and the traditional Chinese brush it was drawn with. The detail is very tiny and intricate. The penny could eclipse the dragonfly entirely with room to spare.

I think sewists is the most widely-accepted gender neutral form (mostly because “sewer” looks like it’s pronounced, um, differently when written) but many of the folks who sew and are even nominally fem or otherwise consider themselves women use seamstress still

Sometimes I listen to a playlist a friend put together for themself and get hit by a song I never would have selected for myself if given a general explanation of it, and end up with a new favorite artist. Sometimes the show everyone thinks I’ll love bores me to tears.

Right? I can usually *kinda* guess, but that works best after someone tells me the basic premise of some new game or show and I go “that sounds great!” or “probably not my cup of tea” in response. But there are things I’ve been surprised to find out I really like!

How dare they not ask her to babysit anymore? So selfish! She just wants to spend time with her grandkids completely at her own convenience, with no regard for anyone else’s schedules!

No no all she did was promise to babysit, “forgetting” that she had bingo night, and then ditched the parents at the last minute when it was too late to get another babysitter. Only 127,498 times!

75GW of demand is a staggering figure. Essentially TRIPLES, at *best*, the nation's energy consumption. How can any sane government even contemplate allowing this? The AI bubble cannot pop soon enough.
AI datacentres use a massive amount of electricity to power servers and cooling equipment, and to run facility systems. There are 315 datacentres in the queue to connect to the UK’s electricity grid, representing 73GW of demand. This is almost double the peak winter energy demand for the entire UK.

Yep. Kids were “suddenly” expressing themselves as trans, and no one bothered to ask the kids how long they kept that secret before telling their parents.

Ainsel @ainselcrafts.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Yep. Most of the time there are specific problem behaviors, which have been clearly communicated to them, which they refuse to change and that’s why they’re “estranged”.
070
Ainsel @ainselcrafts.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Definitely never punished them harshly for struggling with problems the parents themselves actually willfully caused, or treated them like servants (no, I don’t mean “expected them to do some chores”, I mean “expected them to abandon their own lives entirely to make the parent’s life convenient”)

No demographic has a monopoly on virtue or vice, people are fundamentally people. And women are also just people.
130
Ainsel @ainselcrafts.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
But more importantly, consider the implications of assuming that women have some inherent quality that prevents them from becoming abusers. Do you think it’s wise to grant *anyone* a default pass on their behavior on the grounds of their gender?
250
Ainsel @ainselcrafts.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
It’s hard to find data on bc abuse committed by women is often less overt &, as the other person said, against people with less systemic power than women have. But consider the TERF movement’s rhetoric against trans people. Consider child abuse committed by mothers. Consider white women’s racism.

Given financial issues (it's ... bad), seems like a good time to remind people I have books for sale. In fact, quite a fair number of queer (trans, pan, poly+) paranormal romance/erotica+, horror, and weird fiction. Want to buy direct? Get them here: www.huldrahouse.com/shop huldrahouse.itch.io
Cover image of a novella called The River Devours the Moon, written by Kaya Skovdatter. A woman's head floats underwater in the upper half of the image. Her eyes closed and a bubble escaping from her open lips, her hair drifting in wispy strands. The entire image is washed blue, and light glows up illuminating her face, from the lower half of the image. The title is overlaid against the cover image, its text matte white. At the top of the image is a string of blurb text that reads: "Elegant. Surreal. Some of Kaya's best work." - A.G.A. Wilmot, author of WitheredCover image of a book called The Collected Hulderotica Year One, written by Kaya Skovdatter. Background is a figure in a shadowed figure in a scarf and dress, holding an umbrella. Their face too is covered in shadow, only two unnerving points of light shining out of that darkness. Around the figure is a lush, overgrown forest painted in a variety of greens, and before them is a rock-edged forest pool with the figure's reflection cast in its green-tinged surface. The title is overlaid against the cover image, its text matte white.

Most likely Ganoderma tsugae, Hemlock Varnish Shelf, based on location, preference for conifers, and general appearance.
An example of Ganoderma tsugae, a large woody shelf fungus with a white outer edge shading to a dark rust-orange at the center, growing on a mossy stump.
