I caught the most amazing wave on Wednesday. It was huge (for me) and quicker than anything I've ever caught before. I went from terror to exhiliration as it opened up and carried me across the beach. I catch myself smiling every time I think about it. 😊

I've a brown belt in kickboxing and learned self defence as part of my grading. I got grabbed by the wrist by a guy trying to pull me into a van in a market in Stockholm and muscle memory kicked in to roll my hand against his thumb to break the grip. I roared at him and not a single person helped.

My kickboxing instructor taught us how to get away if someone is on top of you on the ground - a very difficult thing to do. But he also recommended grabbing the nuts and squeezing them together 😬

Those same Ukrainians recently asked my husband and me to help them look for work and said they'd take anything. The lady giving out reckoned they were 'too brown' to be real Ukrainians. I despair at the racism and stupidity of some people, I really do.

Just had a conversation with a woman who lives in a house built cheaply by her brother who made his fortune in the US working construction. 3 of her kids are working in Oz in the mining sector. And she's giving out about the Ukrainians who've moved in down the street and our taxes paying for them. 🤦🏼‍♀️
