I wish people understood that TV writers: 1. *Have* actually thought more about this than even the most die hard fan. 2. Are beholden to time, money, and owner constraints that fans will never be aware of. 3. Are extremely likely to already be aware of any critiques because (see 1) but (see 2)

I did do a small amount of things I was proud of today. I had a break inbetween working on a sequence and I was able to see the gap on how to improve it today.

I’ve been thinking lately about the ways we have time to create something remarkable and the notion of happiness. I don’t have a solution but I think maybe a lot of it isn’t being done right. I guess I’ll poke at it a bit. I love building something with peers but that usually requires money.

I’m fascinated by teens being really into aesthetics that they never experienced. Like people will say Frutiger Aero is a nostalgia for a more positive view of the future etc… but you can’t really be nostalgic for something you never experienced? Also kids into audio tapes. Not bad just interesting.

The rose they showed in Bones was a classic modern hybrid tea.(left). The alba rose is a whole class of roses, most of which have an old fashioned looking double full petal look like the one on the right. Almost any double rose, even a modern floribunda would have been a better choice.

it’s really not that rare. I have one in my yard. When they showed the supposed alba in the show… it was just a modern hybrid tea, not an alba. I was so disappointed. I know. Folks got stuff to do. It’s hard to get non basic Rose’s blooming on demand for a shoot. But it wasn’t remotely right.

(Nerd) if you name a rose in your fiction, you darn well better at least do a cursory search and portray it properly. I remember there was an episode of Bones that described an old “rare” rose, alba. I suppose it’s rare in that most home or industrial gardens now only have iceberg or modern tea. 🧵
