I loved, loved, loved Forgotten Island. It's wildly oroginal, funny as hell, and about something very real (how memories make us who we are) at the heart of the visually stunning mythological world. My head is still spinning at all the insanly profound ideas...

When I was a kid I saw Balok’s big green head in the end credits of a TOS rerun on WFLD in Chicago and then watched obsessively until I finally caught his episode, the Corbomite Maneuver. I've never stopped watching. Today on the 60th I somehow find myself a Star Trek writer. Happy Star Trek Day!

I felt so lucky to be on set for this episode bc I got to watch an artist at his peak showing unbelievable range. Anson really brought it in every way imaginable. He took our script and made it funnier than it was on the page and achingly real as it unfolded. Our captain forever. #StrangeNewWorlds

Had a great time at SDCC. Last night Zoltar told my fortune at a pinball arcade and NGL he's a little lecture-y. Like, I get it. It's not the machine's fault I couldn't crack the top ten. Or gravity. I need to do the work to get better at pinball. It's me.

Film is beautiful, the Odyssey is great, see it on film! That’s the movie on the platter at The Alex. They put a window behind their 70mm projector where everyone can see it in its glory. Matt Damon’s physique & performance are best experienced large format. I loved this movie. And his ripped chest.

When Oatmeal was with us (she died July 5 last year) we'd wrap her in armor to get her through the most traumatic day for dogs across our nation aka July 4. But she'd be wagging her tail like a true survivor moments after the blitzkrieg ended.

Found this picture of the wonderful David Kendall from the '23 strike. Even in this group shot his brilliance, humor, and kindness are evident. He treated everyone well, at a time when that was not the norm, & showed how you can do that and still make great TV and movies. I can't believe he's gone.
