Freedom of choice
4 frame comic. an off frame street journalist asks a bearded man wearing a green cap and khaki clothes:

sir! do you think people
who don't have the guts to
watch a public execution
should do something else
instead of complaining, while
real men enjoy the show?

the man replies:
I don't know. do
you think people who don't
want to watch drag storytime
should just do something else
instead of demonstrating?
do you think people who
don't want to transition
should get a hobby instead
of restricting trans care
for people who need it?
how come you people
only care about freedom of
choice when it's about
being cruel to people?

A one-time 5% wealth tax would bring Silicon Valley's billionaires' wealth back to where it was just 31 days ago (when it was "just" 178% higher than on January 1, 2023). They'd rather let 3 million people lose their health insurance than let that happen.

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”
APStylebook @APStylebook
X.com
Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

There are graphs
4 frame comic. a street journalist asks someone with a light blue dress and a large purse :
miss! do you think gender
transition should be illegal
for kids, given how patients
are rushed into treatments
and how the vast majority
ends up detransitioning?

she replies, pulling a bunch of papers from her purse that she hands to the journalist:
I'm glad you asked! yet another
new massive study* just found
that out of 445 kids who were
referred to four different gender
clinics for gender dysphoria, only
2.9% didn't identify as trans or
non-binary five years later.
there are graphs!
a note below the frame gives the reference for the study : Metzger & al. stability of transgender identity in
adolescents seen in multidisciplinary specialized gender
centers. journal of adolescent health. august 2026.
she continues :
then out of the 353 who
started hormones (after an
average wait time of 2.4 years),
only 1.1% had stopped the treat-
ment five years later, which is
incredibly few. I hope that
info helps you!
but miss, do you think gender
transition should be illegal
for kids, given how this study
seems to suggest that it is so
addictive that kids who were
transed might feel trapped to
keep identifying as trans?
she replies, looking tired : stop making sh*t up.

FAQ on the Talk page of Lake Ontario
Q2: Why hasn't Wikipedia changed the article name from Lake Ontario to Lake America?
A2: Wikipedia uses common names over official names. Per the article title policy, names that are commonly used by independent, reliable sources to refer to the subject of the article should be used when possible, and there is no indication that "Lake Ontario" has ceased or will cease to be the overwhelmingly most common name for the lake.

USPS is now claiming that it is “too late” for the plaintiffs to obtain judicial relief. Addressing this, Talwani used the USPS’s own earlier claims as to why the plaintiffs’ previous effort to obtain relief was too early. 6/
Two weeks before the Final Rule issued, Defendants' counsel represented to the court
that:
“when the final rule is implemented, if it affects an individual voter's ability to vote,
then they certainly have standing to challenge that final rule. And courts are able to
work in an expedited basis. It would only take a very short amount of time for a
temporary restraining order or a preliminary injunction to issue.”
And two days ago, when Defendants asked the court to vacate the preliminary injunction entered
in LWVM prior to the Supreme Court's Order, Defendants represented that Plaintiffs were not
without a remedy, for where the Rule had now issued, they could "simply amend their
complaint" and challenge the Final Rule directly.
