If I had “Germanic linguist” in my bio I would be a lot more cognizant of avoiding situations where my posts could be met with an appropriate reply of “I’m sure your opinion about what’s kosher sounds better in the original German.”

If the 3 options are: govt stops barbarism, govt does barbarism in the open, or govt does barbarism in the dark, option 2 is the most likely to lead to option 1. The more we let the government hide the things we find abhorrent the longer it will go on.

The death penalty’s existence is barbaric and the silence from the Catholic Church every time Catholics on the Court fast-track an execution speaks volumes.

It is really frustrating to see people demand we don't do a thing that will make it more evident that the death penalty is inhumane. The state is going to do a murder, we should not demand the state avoid publicizing that the death penalty is evil and abhorrent!

Affidavit Bowie @affidavitbowie.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
If you think the state shouldn't murder people, the best way to get to that outcome is not [let the state keep murdering people quietly]. The best way to end this barbarism is to make it more evidently barbaric until voters demand that it stops.

The live streamed state sponsored murder is actually not worse than every other state sponsored murder, and the more people see what the state is doing in their name, the less likely the state is to do vile monstrous things.

There’s nothing the government should do in our names that we’re not comfortable being live-streamed. It’s much more appalling that polite society determined an unreliable chemical cocktail is an appropriate method of execution precisely because it is less offensive to the audience.

Among much, much else: in the normal course of events this would be handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for DC, maybe in conjunction with the Criminal Division. But it looks like Harmeet Dhillon, thirsty for a promotion to Blanche’s old job, said “Put me in, Coach!”

One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”

That isn’t what he’s saying though? He’s actually saying 1) Cornell police didn’t tell me that; and 2) NYS law is fucked and voluntarily getting intoxicated limits what you can claim afterwards. Her sworn statement provided by the Cornell cops doesn’t include the statement that she was raped.

I will say, that office has experience in bringing charges against college kids, and I never saw anyone shy away from charges against frat bros. The ADA I worked with primarily once complained he couldn’t charge lacrosse players more for speeding. They wouldn’t offer any favors to douchebags.

Disclaimer: I worked with the TCDA’s office in ‘10-11. I don’t think it is CYA. It’s an explanation why no DA *could* prosecute the case. Prosecutors cannot file charges on fact patterns that aren’t crimes. They had a sworn statement to the effect of [no crime happened here] signed by the victim.

There is no provision against “mass changes” and using that language is misleading. There is currently nothing preventing DHS from allowing CSV import of voter data for SAVE portal searching. That would be “individualized determinations” according to SCOTUS.
020
Affidavit Bowie @affidavitbowie.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
There is no distinction between “database of people we think died” and “database of people we think are not citizens” for these purposes. The SAVE portal requiring 1 person per search (as far as we know) is as systematic as any database call, there’s just a person pressing copy, paste, and enter.
110
Affidavit Bowie @affidavitbowie.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
This is incorrect. NVRA says no “systematic” removal, but for removals at the request of the voter (3A); for criminal conviction or incapacity (3B); or death (4A). Those are all just as individualized as the SAVE removals purport to be!
