If you’re wondering why some Covid activists still seem to be in the "emergency phase," please remember that for many, it truly is still an emergency - some are disabled, unhoused, grieving loved ones, or facing abuse for continuing to mask. Before judging, take a moment to check your privilege

I apologize. I wasn’t clear. Fraud and signing an unwilling spouse’s name to a surrogacy contract are very wrong. The ethics of many of her decisions are indeed questionable at best. But that is a separate issue from criticizing women for their decisions about how many children to have and when.

I'm seeing a whole lot less outrage for the journalists of color who have been systematically discarded at places like NBC and CBS (and across journalism, really) than the response to Jimmy Kimmel's 5-day suspension.

Is it really an ethical conundrum? Questioning what’s best for the kids is fair, but who gets to decide? I may not agree with her choices, but I fully support her autonomy over her reproductive decisions.

The alleged fraud should absolutely be investigated. My point is that no one should control how many children a woman has, if any, or when she has them.

💯 Masking is a good litmus test for many things you'd want in a partner -science literacy -intelligence -empathy -community minded -values health > conformity -weirdly super cool
Tweet from Vivian @suchnerve

"also worth noting that i refuse to date nonmaskers, even if they swear they’d mask for me, because i simply don’t believe external motivation is sustainable. it’s not good enough to do something for me; you have to do it for yourself, because that means you’ll do it unsupervised."

She is QT'ing a tweet from @thejinjoguy

WRT election dates does this really change anything? Premiers could already call early elections, as Ford did in February 2025. Seems that this just removes the illusion of fixed dates and makes it official that governments can spend public money on snap elections whenever they want.

You argue that motivations behind a crime shouldn’t alter punishment. But isn’t motivation already part of the Criminal Code in other contexts? For example, terrorism offences require an ideological motive, and judges routinely consider motive as an aggravating or mitigating factor at sentencing.
