I have just been informed that these candies are being discontinued?!? This, to me, is more anti-Jewish than anything Macklemore has ever said. You simply cannot discontinue these candies and expect Jewish continuity. ejewishphilanthropy.com/sunkist-frui...

I love the idea that Stalin, Hitler, et al are being punished in hell by being forced to debate Charlie Kirk. Also, hard for me to zoom - is that Che next to another Che?

I’m sorry, the T needs improvements for sure, but this says WAY more about how out of touch the elite hostess is than the state of the T. It’s one thing to not ride the T despite living close to a major station — it’s another to not KNOW she lives close to Park St www.bostonglobe.com/2026/09/06/b...
The Boston Globe
The Big Idea

The T's unreliability is outrageous and costly. Why do we put up with it?

By Kara Miller Globe Correspondent
Several years ago, I was invited to a fancy party on Beacon Hill. One of the invitees asked the hostess what T stop she lived near, and she replied she had no idea.

The answer floored me, because she probably lived 150 feet from the Park Street station. I bet you could have seen it from her amazing balcony.

But it served as a good reminder that lots of people with power - either financial or political - know next to nothing about the T.
Because they don't ride it.

Jon, I love ya, but your logic is flawed. We don't know how a Koh/Nguyen race would go in a General. 1) Don't assume conservative votes go to Koh. Why? Many conservatives may not like, say, Biden's pick for Congress. 2) candidates would campaign differently with different rules

It certainly says something that nothing short of very credible rape allegations can topple a white man in the Democratic Party. Like can you imagine the amount of condemnation and backlash if either El-Sayed or Mamdani had even a FRACTION of the amount of scandals Platner had?

It has become apparent that it was genuinely Obama not his advisors — not Axe or Gibbs or any of them. That said I do think there’s a difference between Axelrod of 08 and today — the Axelrod of today has spent many years on CNN getting his brain cooked by having to be a talking head.

I think most people understand that the solutions to most of these problems are interrelated. As we build housing we create jobs for the workers building houses + the rest of economy. More jobs mean more people have health care, etc. Build in a sustainable way to tackle climate and so on.

If you pay child care workers more, then more people will become child care workers (or stay in field). If there are more child care workers, there are more child care seats. If there are more child care seats available, prices can go down. What a concept!! www.bostonglobe.com/2026/08/12/m...

HEADLINE: Google's co-founder has spent more than $100 million to oppose a billionaire tax
AUGUST 11, 2026 • 10:02 AM ET

In California, tech billionaires are ramping up spending to defeat a wealth tax in the state.

Google co-founder Sergey Brin has spent more than $100 million to blanket the state in ads and commercials condemning the ballot measure. The measure, known as Proposition 40, would impose a one-time 5% tax on California residents worth more than $1 billion. If passed, the tax would fund healthcare programs in the state.

Brin has compared the tax to the Soviet-style socialism his family fled in the late-1970s, and has moved to the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe to avoid the tax.

Brin is also supporting two competing ballot measures in November that would effectively void the billionaires' tax.
