Earlier this week @tetrameryx.bsky.social and I visited a Brandt's cormorant (Urile penicillatus) rookery here in #socal. These birds are drab from a distance but up close, have blue throats, iridescent feathers, and haunting blue eyes. Breeding season has just started.🦑 Canon SL3/sigma 600mm.
